Montalcino is situated on a hill at 564 meters above s.l. and he is delimeted from the Ombrone River and its flowing Asso River and Orcia River, so Montalcino have some splendid sights on these valleys.
The economy is overall agricultural and this country is farmed for 50% to forest waste land, for 10 % to olive-tree and for 8% to vineyards and only an half for Brunello.
The climate is mild for all the year but it may become stiff for some days in winter.
