Brunello qualifications

The Consorzio of Brunello defines
the basic principles about production, |
| Production: they define wich are the vineyards they
must be only in Montalcino’s country. The vineyards
is only Sangiovese. |
| Wine-making: to became Brunello,
he needs 5 years of aging (for example the wine of 2000,
we will trading only in 2005). For at least 2 years the
wine was leaved in barrels made from oak and after he must
be stabilising in bottle for at least 4 months (and at least
6 for the Reserves). |
| Bottling: he must be made only
in the production area, only in Montalcino. |
| Trading: The Brunello can only
trading in a ¾ liter glass bottle (usually called
“bordolese”). |
